Volleyball Game Preview: Gallia Academy Blue Devils vs. Vinton County Vikings

The Gallia Academy Blue Devils will take on the Vinton County Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gallia Academy will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, Gallia Academy made easy work of Rock Hill and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gallia Academy was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gallia Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Bennett, who had 18 digs and five aces. Bennett has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 20 times she's played.

Bennett wasn't the only good servers: Gallia Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Vinton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past McClain 3-0 on Monday.

Vinton County was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.

Gallia Academy's record is now 22-0. As for Vinton County, their record now sits at 11-12.
