Volleyball Recap: Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Canastota Red Raiders 3-0. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

One reason for the win was Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 25-13.

Nicolas Lavesa-Cesana paced Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's offense, picking up 22 kills. Lavesa-Cesana got some help from Nolan Wood and his 28 assists. Devon Aiken controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Canastota, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Rome Free Academy on the 21st. Canastota has also already played their next matchup (against Oneida), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
