Brookfield is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Badger a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Brookfield Warriors will be playing at home against the Badger Braves at 5:00 p.m.
Brookfield fell victim to LaBrae and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
Brookfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Badger hadn't done well against East recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Braves were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over East. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
The team relied heavily on Jack Harnett, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ernie Cunningham, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one stolen base.
With the victory, Badger broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-6. As for Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brookfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Badger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Brookfield's way against Badger when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Brookfield made off with an 18-6 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
