The Alhambra Moors will be taking part in a tournament against the Glendale Nitros at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alhambra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Alhambra will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Flintridge Prep on Thursday. Alhambra came out on top against Flintridge Prep by a score of 10-6. The Moors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Escobedo, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nero Navarro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against St. Francis, falling 19-1.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Alhambra, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Alhambra came out on top in a nail-biter against Glendale when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Does Alhambra have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glendale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
