Baseball Recap: Cumberland Takes a Loss

Cumberland lost against Amelia County back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dukes lost 15-1 to the Raiders. The Dukes' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Cumberland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Brodie, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Brodie is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Amelia County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland will take on Surry County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Amelia County, they will face off against Randolph-Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
