Basketball Preview: Malcolm Clippers vs. Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays
Malcolm has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Malcolm is ranked 50th, while the Bluejays are ranked 74th).
Last Saturday, Malcolm was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to the Chieftains.
The losing side was boosted by Halle Dolliver, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 64.3% of Malcolm's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Zegar, who scored no points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood lost a heartbreaker to the Falcon when they met back in February of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Ashland-Greenwood fell 45-35 to the Falcon. Ashland-Greenwood has struggled against the Falcon recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Malcolm's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
