Baseball Game Preview: Corbin Redhounds vs. Daviess County Panthers

The Corbin Redhounds will venture away from home to take on the Daviess County Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Daviess County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Corbin, who comes in off a win.

Corbin gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Seymour, sneaking past 8-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Redhounds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kade Elam made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Broughton, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Noah Cima was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Daviess County challenged Hilliard Bradley on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 8-7. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brody Brubaker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mewes, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Daviess County's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Corbin, their record is now 4-5.
