Football Recap: Island Coast Comes Up Short at Home Against Port Charlotte

Island Coast unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Port Charlotte Pirates on Friday, falling 62-0. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Logan Flaherty looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 82 yards and three TDs on only seven passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Island Coast will welcome Golden Gate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Port Charlotte, they will host North Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
