Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for St. Mary's

If Memorial Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Mary, they should've done a better job of containing Ty Zimmerhanzel. The St. Mary's Rams walked away with a 38-26 victory over the Memorial Christian Academy Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Zimmerhanzel, who posted 20 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of St. Mary's points.

Kalin Love and Cody Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Love put up 12 points and seven rebounds, while Williams earned seven points and nine boards.

St. Mary's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Memorial Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

St. Mary's has already played their next contest, a 63-27 defeat against Methodist Children's Home on the 23rd. Memorial Christian Academy has also already played their next game (against Providence Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
