Softball Game Preview: Wardlaw Academy Patriots vs. King Academy Knights

For the second straight game, Wardlaw Academy will face off against King Academy. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wardlaw Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Wardlaw Academy beat King Academy 11-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Brianna McNeill ( JR) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. McNeill ( JR) was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hill (JR), who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hailey Holmes (SR) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Wardlaw Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wardlaw Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for King Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
