Basketball Recap: Mt. Hermon Comes Up Short

Mt. Hermon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-32 loss at the hands of the Holden Rockets. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-19.

Despite the defeat, Mt. Hermon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lyric LaCour went 6-for-15 en route to 12 points. That was a full 37.5% of the Yellowjackets' points, marking the third time in a row LaCour has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Mt. Hermon's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Holden, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mt. Hermon will venture away from home to take on Central Private at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holden, they will head out to challenge Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
