Softball Recap: Voorheesville Takes a Loss

Voorheesville fell victim to Albany Academy for Girls and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-0. The Blackbirds haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Abby Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Voorheesville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Sokolowski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Voorheesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Albany Academy for Girls, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Voorheesville and Albany Academy for Girls will both be playing Lansingburgh the next time they take the field. The Blackbirds will head out to face the Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bears will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
