Basketball Recap: Giltner Takes a Loss

Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Deshler Dragons, falling 47-15. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 54-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Giltner had strong showings from Peyton Schutt, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards, and Avery Reeson, who posted a point. The dominant performance also gave Schutt a new career-high in blocks (six).

Giltner's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Deshler, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Giltner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-22 defeat against Silver Lake on the 13th. As for Deshler, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-49 loss against Red Cloud on the 13th.
