Basketball Recap: Huntsville Wins Going Away Against Montgomery

Huntsville won the last time they faced Montgomery and things went their way on Friday too. The Huntsville Hornets took down the Montgomery Bears 55-39.

Despite the defeat, Montgomery saw an underclassman step up: freshman Briley Esnard went 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points. Esnard is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Janessa Tennison was another key player, putting up eight points along with five boards and four steals.

Huntsville's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-6.

Huntsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-42 win against Legacy School of Sport Sciences on the 7th. As for Montgomery, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-39 loss against A&M Consolidated on the 7th.
