Recap: Central City Bison vs. Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals
The Central City Bison's's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They managed a 36-31 victory over Doniphan-Trumbull. The victory was just what Central City needed coming off of a 42-17 defeat in their prior matchup.
Central City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Buhlke, who scored ten points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerzie Schindler, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Doniphan-Trumbull saw an underclassman step up: Charlee Richter scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Richter is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The win got Central City back to even at 3-3. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Twin River on January 2, 2024. Doniphan-Trumbull will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Sandy Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
