Basketball Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short

Burlingame lost against Half Moon Bay back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Burlingame Panthers fell 53-40 to the Half Moon Bay Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Cougars are ranked 139th).

Despite the loss, Burlingame still got an impressive performance from Jean-Luc Uharriet, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucca Maher, who scored six points and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Burlingame and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Half Moon Bay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Burlingame Panthers take on the Woodside Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Half Moon Bay, they will be playing at home against Hillsdale at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Half Moon Bay is facing Hillsdale at the right time seeing as Hillsdale is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
