Desert View hasn't had much luck against Buena recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jaguars will square off against the Colts at 4:00 p.m. Desert View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Desert View is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs last Monday, they were much more limited against Nogales on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Apaches by a score of 2-1.

Desert View saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yadier Acu?a, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Buena waltzed into their game on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Cougars.

Bryson Haymore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Buena pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Desert View, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-5.

Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .487. However, it's not like Buena struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Desert View came out on top in a nail-biter against Buena when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
