Football Recap: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Marion Harding Presidents
Mt. Vernon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marion Harding Presidents. The Yellowjackets just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row dating back to last season.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Taylor, who threw for 241 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Mt. Vernon will be defending their home-field for the first timethey go up against Newark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion Harding, they will host Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
