Basketball Recap: New Creation Christian Academy Falls Short of Young Americans Christian in the Playoffs

New Creation Christian Academy and Young Americans Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but New Creation Christian Academy had to settle for second. They took an 80-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Young Americans Christian Eagles. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Young Americans Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Poole, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. Poole continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damian Crawford, who went 11 of 26 en route to 25 points and six rebounds.

New Creation Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Young Americans Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

New Creation Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Young Americans Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Creekside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Creekside Christian Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Young Americans Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
