Softball Game Preview: Homer-Center Wildcats vs. United Lions

The Homer-Center Wildcats are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the United Lions at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Homer-Center is leaving town to face United after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Homer-Center fell just short of Cambria Heights by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday.

Homer-Center saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bekah Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for United's offense. They lost 21-0 to Marion Center on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled against the Stingers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Homer-Center beat United 9-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Homer-Center have another victory up their sleeve, or will United turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
