Loretto is 9-1 against Lewis County since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Lewis County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Loretto, who comes in off a win.
Loretto had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Perry County on Monday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Loretto was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-6, 25-13.

Loretto's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Taylor Laws, who had 11 aces, and Tate Newton, who had ten assists and seven aces. Those 11 aces gave Laws a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Breleigh Winters, who had four digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Loretto was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. They are 14-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Lewis County suffered their biggest defeat since September 9th on Thursday. They came up short against Summertown, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-10.
Loretto is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-24 record this season. As for Lewis County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Loretto was able to grind out a solid victory over Lewis County when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
