Baseball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Comes Up Short

Upper Perkiomen had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Perkiomen Valley Vikings, falling 12-6. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Upper Perkiomen saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Brayden Adam was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Perkiomen Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Perkiomen Valley's side, the team relied heavily on Braden Tighe, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Tighe a new career-high. Tyler Gilbert also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Perkiomen will venture away from home to square off against Spring-Ford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perkiomen Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Norristown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
