Canistota took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Chester 22-20. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Hanson faced Viborg/Hurley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Beavers came up short against the Cougars, falling 28-6. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canistota's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Hanson, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
