There's no place like home for Springboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Fairmont Firebirds on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Adam Smith, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Jacob Cane was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Springboro's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fairmont, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Springboro will head out to face off against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.1, the Elks 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Fairmont will be paying especially close attention to Springboro's contest: after Springboro faces off against Centerville, they'll take on Fairmont again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
