Volleyball Recap: Spring Lake Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Spring Lake's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Newaygo Lions by a score of 3-1. The Lakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Spring Lake was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-13.

Lauren Meigs paced Spring Lake's offense, picking up 13 kills. Meigs got some help from Ashlynn O'Donnell and her 20 assists. Meigs was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Spring Lake moved to 8-15-2 with that victory, which also ended their five-match losing streak. As for Newaygo, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-12.

Spring Lake has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Coopersville on the 16th. As for Newaygo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against North Muskegon on the 16th.
