Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Saline hit Lincoln with a six-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Railsplitters came up short against the Hornets, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-1 loss on Monday.

Lincoln saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Stone, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Lincoln has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Saline, they pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will face off against Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Saline, they will take on Grand Ledge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
