It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Forge Christian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Highland Huskies with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Fury, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Forge Christian let Ben McLean and Jonah Boykin run wild. McLean got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Boykin got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Easton Wilde, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Forge Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only posted an OBP of .276.

The win was the fourth in a row for Forge Christian, bringing their record up to 23-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Highland, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-7.

Looking ahead, Forge Christian will square off against Platte Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Fury surely won't give up without a fight. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
