Baseball Game Preview: Pender Patriots vs. East Bladen Eagles

Pender hasn't had much luck against East Bladen recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Pender will host East Bladen at 7:00 p.m. Pender has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pender is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Hobbton, falling 12-0.

Pender saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Howell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Howell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Bladen). They came out on top against East Columbus by a score of 4-1 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

East Bladen's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Pender, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
