Thomaston is a perfect 10-0 against Gilbert since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bears will challenge the Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thomaston fell victim to Northwestern Regional and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Highlanders. Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Highlanders since on Thursday.

Thomaston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Patchell, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Nonnewaug, falling 19-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Thomaston and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Thomaston's way against Gilbert when the teams last played back in April, as Thomaston made off with a 12-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
