Football Game Preview: Wilbur Cross Governors vs. Notre Dame Green Knights

The Wilbur Cross Governors will head out on the road to square off against the Notre Dame Green Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilbur Cross is looking for their season's first victory.

Wilbur Cross is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 24-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainfield on Friday.

Notre Dame not only won last Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 15, 2024 (when they won 28-0). They blew past North Haven 42-14. With the Green Knights ahead 28-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Wilbur Cross better focus on containing Joe Capasso and Luke Miklos as the pair were huge in Notre Dame's win. Capasso rushed for 109 yards and three TDs, while Miklos rushed for 159 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. The dominant performance also gave Miklos a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Tristan Robinson also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.

Notre Dame was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Notre Dame's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wilbur Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Wilbur Cross took a serious blow against Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, falling 58-0. Can the Governors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
