Volleyball Recap: Redwood Rangers vs. Yosemite Badgers
Redwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yosemite Badgers. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Badgers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Redwood actually scored more points across those five sets (102-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 11-25, 15-13.
Katelynn May paced Redwood's offense, picking up 25 kills. May got some help from Avery Bratsch and her 27 assists. May was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Redwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Yosemite, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redwood will take on Sanger at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yosemite, they will square off against Central East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
