Basketball Recap: Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Victorious

Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics won the last time they faced St. John, and Deron Ruff did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Wildcats blew past the St. John's Islanders 67-34 on Thursday thanks in part to Ruff, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Leitner, who posted eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played.

Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' record is now 9-4. As for St. John's, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics will venture away from home to take on Coastal HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. John's, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burke at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
