Newton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Farina South Central Cougars. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Newton's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Farina South Central, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Newton will venture away from home to take on Richland County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 12.3 runs per game this season.
