Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Hebron's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Hebron unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Guyer Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Kate Buesing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Haylee Epps was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Hebron's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Guyer, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Coincidentally, Hebron and Guyer will both be playing Little Elm the next time they take the field. Hebron will head out to face Little Elm at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Guyer will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
