Basketball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Apollo Hawks

Two dominant guards in Danica Lindemann and Murryah Crump are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Shadow Ridge Stallions will host the Apollo Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-25, which was the final score in Shadow Ridge's tilt against Cesar Chavez on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Champions: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apollo). They blew past Tolleson 56-20 on Friday. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Apollo's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points over those games. As for Shadow Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Shadow Ridge ended up a good deal behind Apollo in their previous matchup two weeks ago, losing 49-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crump, who went 10 for 19 en route to 23 points and eight steals.
