Football Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Freeport was feeling good fresh off their 42-7 takedown of Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets and the Highlands Golden Rams were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Yellowjackets suffered a 28-27 defeat. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Freeport had strong showings from Drew Ross, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and Owen Neistein, who picked up 48 receiving yards and one TD. Ross didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made three total tackles.

Highlands found their leader in sophomore Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg, who rushed for 261 yards and four scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Having lost for the first time this season, Freeport fell to 6-1. As for Highlands, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Freeport didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-26 defeat against Hopewell on the 10th. As for Highlands, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-21 victory against Burrell on the 10th.
