Football Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Freeport was riding high fresh off their 42-7 takedown of Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets and the Highlands Golden Rams were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Yellowjackets suffered a 28-27 defeat. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Freeport had strong showings from Drew Ross, who threw for 150 yards and three TDs on only 11 passes, and Owen Neistein, who picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg was nothing short of spectacular for Highlands: he rushed for 261 yards and four scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Having lost for the first time this season, Freeport fell to 6-1. As for Highlands, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Freeport will be playing in front of their home fans against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Ross and James Armstrong. As for Highlands, they will venture away from home to take on Burrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
