Springfield Southeast got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lanphier Lions. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Springfield Southeast found their leader in sophomore Josey Grant, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Springfield Southeast was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Springfield Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Lanphier, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
