Baseball Recap: Washington Wins Going Away Against Skyline

The Washington Huskies got the win against the Skyline Titans on Monday by a conclusive 9-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Ehkam Braich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Stevens and Peyton Romero did most of the damage at the plate: Stevens went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Romero went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those three hits gave Stevens a new career-high. Tristan Wells was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Washington's record is now 9-7. As for Skyline, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will venture away from home to challenge Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 3.5, the Warriors 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Skyline, they will face off against Oakland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
