Softball Recap: Eustace Drops Highest Score of Season Against Frankston

Eustace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Frankston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Eustace Bulldogs' way against the Frankston Indians on Friday as the Eustace Bulldogs made off with a 12-3 victory. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Madilyn Andrews was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lexi Thompson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Page Miller, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Eustace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

With the win, Eustace broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Frankston, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Eustace will take on Mineola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Eustace their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Frankston, they will face off against Elkhart at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elkhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.
