Basketball Recap: Kearny Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over Hoboken Charter

Kearny Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past Hoboken Charter 68-32. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Hoboken Charter, too.

Kearny Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Tavarez, who posted 20 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Leo Kargbo, who earned 20 points and eight steals.

Kearny Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Faith Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hoboken Charter, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Middlesex on January 5, 2026.
