Basketball Game Preview: Gunter Tigers vs. Bells Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gunter Tigers challenge the Bells Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Gunter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Gunter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-32 victory over S & S Consolidated. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 683rd, while the Rams are ranked 1604th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bells unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 58-40 fall against Pottsboro.

Bells' defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Gunter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Gunter ended up a good deal behind Bells in their previous matchup on January 7th, losing 63-48. Can Gunter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
