Recap: Lake Wales vs. Okeechobee

Lake Wales was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Okeechobee 46-6. That result is just more of the same for Lake Wales, who also won the last time these teams played.

Lake Wales's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 46 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Okeechobee couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 46-0 heading into the break. Lake Wales were outperformed in the second half 0-6 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the game.

Junior Johnny Richardson, who picked up 186 yards on the ground, was a major factor in the success. Lake Wales also got a significant boost from senior Kahari Taylor, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards. The win got they back to even at 1-1. The loss dropped Okeechobee's record to 0-2.

Lake Wales will look to defend their home turf next week against Haines City at 7:30 PM. Okeechobee have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next contest, which is against Sebastian River at Military Recognition Night - Sebastian River High at 7:00 PM in two weeks.
