Softball Game Preview: Cherokee Indians vs. Vina Red Devils

For the second straight game, Cherokee will face off against Vina. The Indians will host the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Cherokee earned a 6-2 win over Vina. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Libby Collum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on A'Kaiya Spencer, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Layla Gorman, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Spencer wasn't the only one making solid contact: Cherokee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vina only managed four hits.

Vina's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.
