Baseball Recap: Caston Takes Down West Central in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Caston had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the West Central Trojans 10-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won nine matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Mollenkopf was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Holloway, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win was the third in a row for Caston, bringing their record up to 19-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Central, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Looking ahead, Caston will take on South Newton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Comets are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a 22-game losing streak. West Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
