Basketball Game Preview: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights vs. Brunswick Academy Vikings

The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Brunswick Academy Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Monday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot made off with a 62-61 victory over Grove Christian School.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot can attribute much of their success to Taylor Hamner, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 31 points and three steals, and John Loftin, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave Hamner a new career-high in points.

Brunswick Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banner Christian on Thursday.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Brunswick Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot skirted past Brunswick Academy 57-55 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
