Volleyball Recap: Chesterton Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Chesterton had won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 5-1 to make it six. They came out on top against the Penn Kingsmen by a score of 3-1. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Kingsmen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Chesterton's offense was headlined by Tenley Davis and Luca Bombacino, who picked up 25 kills apiece. They got some help from Abigail Parrish and her 26 assists. Davis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Penn fell to 3-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Penn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Montana Swartz, who had ten digs and four aces, and Abby Lane, who had 18 digs. Swartz is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Coming up, Chesterton will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Andrean at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Penn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Carroll on the 23rd.
