Softball Recap: East Webster Wins Going Away Against Aberdeen

While East Webster put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Aberdeen. East Webster blew past Aberdeen 16-0. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jasie Rae Flora made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Faith Edwards, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Waydlee Belle Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

East Webster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

East Webster's record is now 14-8. As for Aberdeen, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Webster will head out to square off against Nettleton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aberdeen, they will venture away from home to challenge West Point at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
