Baseball Recap: Deering Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Deering's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Sanford Spartans on Friday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Deering's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sanford, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Deering will take on rival Thornton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sanford is set to challenge their familiar foe Falmouth at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.6, the Navigators 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
