Soccer Game Preview: Cape Hatteras vs. Holmes

Cape Hatteras hasn't had much luck against Holmes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hurricanes will host the Aces at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cape Hatteras comes in on four and Holmes on three.

Holmes better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Cape Hatteras' game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Cape Hatteras really gets things going. The Hurricanes' defense stepped up to hand Bear Grass Charter a 3-0 shutout. Three seems to be a good number for Cape Hatteras as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

They hit Bear Grass Charter with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Paizley Schultz, Graham Stutts, and Christopher Myers.

Meanwhile, Holmes earned a 2-0 win over Perquimans on Wednesday. Given Holmes' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Perquimans are ranked 399th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cape Hatteras' victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2. As for Holmes, their win bumped their record up to 13-5-3.
